14 year old dd has been unwell since the weekend took her to the GP who refered us to a&e yesterday.

She has
Swollen neck
Brain freeze moments
Diziness
Can't keep fluids or food down more a reflux than actual sickness
No temp
Generally feels run down
Fatigue but can't sleep due to pain in neck.

A&E was unsure as what it was and sent us home with anti biotics for a bacterial infection he checked her chest ears and throat all clear also told me to give her para and iburophen.

She can't keep the meds down she's had very little sleep and keep complaining her left arm feels numb and tingling.

We where told to go back after 48 hrs if no improvement but as she's not keeping anything down and now complaining of the numbness I don't know what to do.

It sounds like bad virus (ime that's what a virus can be like). Glandular fever etc. Can she keep painkillers down? In theory could dissolve little sips of fizzy paracetomol just holding them in her mouth, don't have to swallow it at all.

If it was me, I'd go back to A&E if she is no better.
How do you mean a swollen neck? Like glands are swollen or the actual outside of the neck is swollen? Is the swelling all over or just one side?
What did A&E say was causing the swelling in her neck?
Was she doing any sports or gymnastics in the past 2 days? Or been in any kind of other rough physical encounter.
Has she been able to take the antibiotics? Can she keep absolutely nothing down, no water, drinks, nothing? Has she a swallowing problem then do you think?

There are also Paracetamol suppositories that you could get.
If the pain is reduced she might feel like eating more.

She's on liquid for meds and none stay done. Even sips of water come back up.

All the left side swollen no injury or anything she just complained her neck hurt Sunday and went to bed in the afternoon which she never does.

I can't really tell if it's the lymph that are swollen as its from her ear down to the base of the neck and the doctor didn't really know why it was swollen

Take her back, if she can't keep water down she may need IV fluid.

Could she have mumps (even if she had MMR it's still possible)? I had mumps twice and it was particularly awful.

Thank you for your help were back home she has reflux and Lymphoedema she's been given medication for the sickness and strong anti biotics chances are she'll feel worse before she feels better. Doctor said I did the right thing as the medicine she was given yesterday wouldn't have touched it.

She home and in bed hoping she gets some sleep as she exhausted.
