Another Movicol thread

Hi,
Another Movicol thread!
DS1 is 8 and I think has always suffered from a small amount of constpation caused by too much dairy and not enough vegetables (he loves bland creamy things like macaroni and cheese).
He had appendicitis last year and a horrible infection afterwards. He suffers from 'marking' which I always reckoned was psychological (he always seems to have had better things to do that go to the toilet).
He had a follow up appointment with the hospital and I mentionned the marking. The Dr prescribed him movicol, one sachet a day for 30 days.
He had one sachet 2 days ago and has produced a vast volume of liquid poo. This morning it was all over him. He is not happy. I don't think he is impacted because he was thoroughly cleared out after the infection and has no tummy pain. He does produce hard lumpy goat like poos normally so is partially constipated but I do think he is impacted and the movicol seems too strong.
Because this was a dr at the hospital I have no one to follow up with, but poor DS1 cannot be turned into a human poo fountain.

Half a sachet?

When does he poo naturally? If he goes in the evening, then give him half a sachet in the morning. (If in the morning, give movicol in the evening). Do it tomorrow to see how it goes before going back to school!
Good luck. Worked like a charm for us.

Thanks for replying.
I don't know when he poos naturally. It seems
To be after lunch in school as he has school dinners. He is quite private about it as he's nearly 9 :(

Reduce to 1 sachet and then to half if still liquid!
