Ds developed cp on Monday. What started off as what looked like might be a mild case is very much the opposite now. Covered in them, hot and very restless. Seems to have developed lots round eyelid and poss one in corner of his eye. Guessing prob advisable to take him back to go tomorrow or call them?

i worked in a nursery before i was a mum and i would go back to your gp asap chicken pox is mostly just uncomfortalble for children but it can become serious. anything to do with eyes always worrys me a bit and i know it is possible to get the spots on eyeballs.
paracetamol and ibroprofen can be given alternitvly every 2 hours to make it more babreable for your poor baby. also porride oats i the bath is suposed to be good

hope hes ok soon

Thanks. Called gp this morning. They have sent a referral to rapid access centre to he triaged and heard nothing since. Hasn't got worse but still red. Fairly sure that's what it is but been waiting so long I have doubts now:(

Took him to out of hours as never heard from eye clinic. Got abs for inflamed spots. Gp could see the white thing in his eye. Found the eye dept. they wouldn't have it. Doc said he has never seen chicken pox on eyeball and wouldn't come down!

Oh dear sometimes you just have to be instant your his mum you know best regardless of what the gp thinks. It's defiantly possible to get spots on eye balls, my cousin had them, he did have a particularly bad case thogh as he was only about 8 weeks old
Hope you get him sorted soon

Umm that seems really strange, even nhs Yorkshire hospitals guidelines are if chicken pox lessions are noted in the eye then they need to be referred to eye specialist.
And my son had a chicken pox under eyelid so was touching the eye and they took that very seriously.

Thankfully eye clinic phoned next morning and asked him to come in. Wasn't sure whether was or wasn't but said def something there and have Zovirax and got to take him back next Friday. A x
