Swollen gland after MMR - referred for ultrasound

Hello all,

My 14 month old dd had her MMR 4 weeks ago and developed swollen glands a few days later, along with an eye infection and cold. GP checked her over and felt her swollen glands were MMR related and arranged a follow up which was yesterday. Dd has no temperature, no signs of infection or illness and is in really good form but the gland on the left side is still really noticeable and prominent. GP has referred her to have an ultrasound and said it may be a possible parotid (sp) cyst related to the mumps live vaccine in the MMR - has anyone any experience or advice? Google is throwing up scary, frightening terms and scenarios and has frightened the life out of me.

TIA

Persistent swollen glands are really common at that age. One of my sons had one for months on end, I would say 6 months.

Doctor kept an eye on it but wasn't overly concerned.

Sounds like your doc is being very cautious, don't worry ( easy to say I know).
