Dd (4 years old) has been getting high temperatures (39.7 last night) in the evenings since last Saturday. She is complaining of being tired; Saturday she fell asleep at the dinner table, Sunday she slept for 3 hours in the car and still went to bed at normal time, Monday and Tuesday she wasn't too bad, yesterday she fell asleep at 4.30pm and woke at 6.45 am and today she has passed out in front of Zoo lane. She has a nasty cough but otherwise seems ok, a bit more emotional than usual maybe!
Do you think she needs to be seen by someone?

Yes, it's a long time to have a high temperature. Get her looked at.

This time her temp didn't respond to calpol, we have just given her a dose of nurofen and will call 111 if she is still hot in half an hour- this is what my gp friend recommended!

Think she needs to be looked at, high temperatures like that, normally indicate an infection somewhere, sounds like her body is trying hard to fight it...

I didn't think you gouls give calpol for more than three days before seeking attention. Please get her seen I hope she's ok

She is fine thanks. Thursday was the worst of if, she hasn't had a temperature since then. She is back to being a normal grotty 4 yr old!

That's a relief. Recovered in time for her chocolate eggs then!
