cough and temp before chickenpox?

typing with 1 hand..

DS had chickenpox last wk, now dried. DD is 3 and has not had it so we're expecting her 2 come down with it anytime...
Yest she developed a high temp and we thought its about to start. But by evening she had a horrendous croup type barking cough which causes her to wince with pain each time she coughs...

could this be related to the onset of c.pox? (no spots yet) or unrelated? Yet another bug we picked up while at GP few days ago..the place was packed and several people were coughing badly.

Especially worried as she was only recently in hosp with pnuemonia.
thanks

Maybe related to c pox, but there is another virus sweeping the nation of high temp, sickness and off food.

Keep up the fluids and monitor her, it is horrible when you are not sure where they are heading. DS2 who is 3 had c pox, scarlet fever and his first ever (and hopefully last) over the Summer, so am watching him like a hawk.

Hope she feels better, maybe your GP could have a chat with you over the phone.

thankyou carocaro, gp insisted that I bring her in...only to say that she MIGHT have an ear infection as its a bit pink, and here you go have some more antibiotics just incase. Totally vague, left even more confused and DD even more poorly..
