Request for help with identifying 2 childrens books

Hello,

I'm posting in the hope that someone can help me identify 2 books that my 7 year old daughter would love to read.

She saw them during a trip to the library with school.

My detective skills have let me down so far. I'm hoping that her descriptions might ring a bell with someone here.

She is convinced the first one is called ' The pigsty stallion'
I can't find anything with that name. She's says it's about a horse who really wants to be a pig !! Apparently the pigs eventually teach him to accept his true identity.

The second is about a little girl whose parents die. A purple patch on the wall takes her to another world where she must solve mysteries in order to be made a princess.

I'd really appreciate any ideas on what they might be.

Could she have got confused and mean the Sheep-Pig by Dick King-Smith? About a pig that wants to be a dog if I remember correctly. I may be way off but that's what I thought of straight away!

The sheep pig was my first thought too, and I got it for her from the library.
Apparently that's not what she was talking about.

I'm totally stumped.
I'll just have to cross my fingers that she comes across them again on one of our visits to the library.

Try asking the library staff. I bet they would know.
