DS1 (nearly 9) has enjoyed some books I loved as a kid, but mostly read to him, such as Swallows and Amazons, Narnia, Black Beauty, and Over Sea, Under Stone, but I'm not sure he'd have persevered with them on his own. He has, however, read The Hobbit, all the Potters and vast amounts of Roald Dahl off his own bat.

Looking forward to some Joan Aiken here too!
