Anybody else remember the series of books capturing zoo animals!

Hello! I'm trying to remember the name and author of a series of books I remember reading as a child where in each book the characters (possibly brothers and their Dad) went on an adventure to bring back some exotic animal for a zoo collection. Different times obviously (!) but now this memory has popped into my head it is frustrating not to remember any the details

Loved that series! It's very dated now though. They released some follow up books a couple of years ago, written by Anthony McGowan.
