Not so much children's books as magazines!

Hi,

Will also try this in Chat. I have a daughter who is 6, reading age several years ahead, fairly girly but also loves to learn stuff (eg was fascinated by the guidebook to Portugal, particularly the phrases section). When we go on holiday she and her brother both love to choose a magazine at the airport. However, they all seem a bit young for her or they're too old (eg Girl Talk - she's not into pop stars yet). Is there a happy medium anyone can recommend? I'd gladly start ordering something online or get a subscription rather than be faced with a world of crap at the airport which she's then a bit disappointed by?

Aquila magazine is very good. Might be a little old for her (aimed at 8-12), but if she enjoys reading a guidebook, maybe not! Definitely no pop stars / makeup / kissing.

National Geographic Kids is good; plenty of reading, facts and quizzes etc

National Geographic Kids. My dd has been getting it for years and she loves it. Will often sit and read my Nat Geo too which sparks some very interesting conversations although now she's nearly 12 they're great.

She used to get All About Animals and Moshi Monsters too. Now she's in that inbetween stage where the kids ones are too young and the teens are just a bit too ahead of her.

Does she like animals? There's a WWF one we sometimes get DD, but in reality it's much too advanced for her, she just loves animals so much! It is good, though, with some decent craft activity suggestions too.
Think Horrible Histories also do a magazine?
