Oh, I didn't know there was a series of how to Train your Dragon books - thanks. Agree MrsJamin - Roald Dahl fab, but have already got a lot of those (inherited from his older sister), am currently trying to buy for his 7th birthday

How about the Cows in Action series? Looks quite similar to the Astrosaurs series.

My boys quite liked the Sir Gadabout series. I quite enjoyed them too but you don't get much mention of them on these threads.

Jeremy Strong - The Indoor Pirates is good for younger ones but there are loads of other ones.

I also have an almost 7 year old DS. He loves Mr Gum. He also likes the Hiccup series and Terry Deary's Roman/Egyptian/Greek Tales.

The Magic Treehouse series are great, Gargoylz books, Beast Quest, Astrosaurs, Jeremy Strong books, Dragons of Wayward Crescent, we have but have yet to try Spy Dogs, Mr Majeika books, have also heard that the Gladiator Boy series and in Action books are good. I think Cows in Action are written by same people as Astrosaurs.

Also I'd recommend this - something a bit different.
