Castor Oil

Tell me all about it .....

Throughout my other 2 pregnancies I tried every self induction method known to man other than Castor Oil. I brought it and poured it with DD1 but was too scared to actually drink it.

Am I right in thinking this seriously works and should be thought about considerably before drinking ? Just weighing up my options should baby FHLH still be in womb next week

Put the fecker down. Just wait!
Dribbly poo when overdue or in labour is bad, bad, bad.

don't do it

it gives you the runs which you won't need if you do go into labour

Am sure lulumama will be along soon to tell you to stimulate your nipples

nooooooooooooooo!!!

do a search on here

you might simply end up with major runs, and pain and diaorrhea and labouring on the toilet

or no labour and major pains and diaorrhea

it is not a good idea

baby will come when ready, but a bit of sex and and nipple stim is far better

if your babies come a bit later then accept it!

reputable chemists will not sell it to heavily pregnant women and for good reason

were your DDs 41 + ?

if you carry a bit longer, then that is how long you need to cook your babies for

it just is not worth it IMO

you can really make yourself poorly and in pain with castor oil

I haven't got any and have no intentions atm, like I said, I chickened out with DD1.

Both DD's were 40+6 so not too bad, just got a feeling this one will go the whole hog

ok. at the most, you have 3 weeks to go, with every chance this baby will appear sooner . so try not to fret and before you know it, you will hvae 3 lovely DCs

Well, I hesitate and Lulu is the expert here by all means. But: I tried it at 42 weeks and rising blood pressure (had tried EVERYTHING else before; I had raw nippels at this point) and promptly got contractions. (Which stopped a few hours later). I then developed severe pre-eclampsia and was induced after all. I did get some mild diarrhoea, but quite liked to have this part behind me (IYKWIM) once I was in full-blown labour. In hindsight (and only with the knowledge one only has afterwards) I would have preferred to have been induced without symptomatic pre-eclampsia rather than with...
All the best.

I used Castor oil with dd2 and was in agony!! my MW was livid with me as I should have "known better" with my job but was desperate to get baby out so resorted to daft measures. It hurt soooooo much!

hope your dd1 gets better soon, poor little lass. glad you've decided not to try the stinky yukky oil!
