10 days still to go yet I am being bombarded with telephone calls and text asking if I am in labour yet! Do my friends and family honestly think I'll nip into hospital and have baby and not tell anyone until he's 6 weeks old!

It's wearing a bit thin already. What did you say appart from Feck Off to try and remain polite!

Do what my sister did when expecting her 4th child and all the previous ones had been overdue.
Put a message on the answering machine to say 'hello this is flibberty's sister and hubby. Thanks for ringing. If you are ringing to ask whether the baby is here yet, no it isnt. If you are ringing for anything else please start to speak and if we are able to come to the phone we will answer you.'

Everyone got the message pretty quick! THey also put one on after baby was born, giving the sex, date and weight, and asking people to please ring back in a few days when they were more settled.

If its texting, I'd just send one text to everyone saying thanks for everyone's concern but please stop texting to ask if I am in labour yet - any other gossip or chat is welcome, and we'll let you know about baby as soon as it arrives!

I went 14 days over and seem to recall I chucked my phone into my hospital bag about a day after my due date and didn't look at it till after the birth, I was SOOOO Sick of all the 'have you had it yet' texts.
