Anyone had one - or know someone who's had one - at King's in Denmark Hill?

I don't know anyone who had a water birth at kings, a friend used the pool but did not give birth in it. You could not book the pool, it just depended if it was free when you were there.

I am se london and had a waterbirth at home with the albany practice, would recommend it,
sorry, not much help....

A friend of mine had a water birth at King's and thought it was wonderful. I think she had to wait until she was about 5cm dilated before they let her get in (otherwise I understand it can slow your progress down). She got out to actually give birth, although they were prepared to let her stay in but she just felt she needed a change. Found the water fantastic for pain relief (had a bit of gas and air, too) ? an all round good experience, I believe. [sorry, she tried to post her story twice on mumsnet, but for some reason wasn't able to]
Unfortunately, my experience on the maternity ward at King's wasn't wholly to be recommended, although we are talking four years ago, and I was unlucky enough to be in at an exceptionally busy time.
