Childbirth

I don't THINK I'm going into labour... but maybe I am?

Had one of those pregnancies, one thing after another.

But the past few days I've been having LOADS of BHs. Baby's engaged and everything. I'm 39+2.

A couple of nights ago I had a contraction that went on for around 40 seconds and felt almost like it was burning inside, and my back, groins and tummy were killing. Then it stopped.

Been sick a few times, have been REALLY irritable and upset. Also had some chunks of jelly but not an actual chunk of jelly with blood in it. Had a slightly larger than usual one before.

Then I had a row with DP because I'm feeling that way out, and I marched off into the other room. As soon as I sat down, I got what I think was a contraction. It went on for much longer than I would have liked, say 40 or 50 seconds and it hurt a lot. It was like very very strong period pain and it hurt my back and groins too. When it stopped, I kept getting little period pains going on and off every couple of mins for a few seconds, but not what I'd call a contraction. I've walked about a bit and the pain seems to have stopped (though I can still feel a very mild dull ache).

Does this sound like things are about to kick off or nowhere near?

It could be about to kick off but I wouldn't get too excited just yet, I started with all manner of mild contractions and twinges and signs on a monday, baby wasn't born til thursday lunchtime. If they go when you walk about, it's not the real thing just yet, usually. Fingers crossed for you though!

I lost my mucus plug (like jelly) and had similar pains. I was told to have a soak in the bath, if they stop its not the real thing.
They did stop but started again next day. dd came early hours of next day.
Good luck

I got really bad back ache and it was radiating round my sides and to my tummy, and something was aching inside. Then I had another contraction, but now it's stopped! Nothing's happened for at least half an hour now. Hrmmmph. Maybe later eh?

Sounds like things are starting anyway.

How is DH?
How is your nan?
How is your auntie?
How are the twins?

That will keep you occupied answering all that and take your mind off things!

lol.. thanks Buda.

DP is all better now, he ended up totally losing feeling in his finger. It's probably not helped by that I've been being a nightmare bitch from hell for a few days and snapping at him. Poor sod.

Nana watched coro yesterday so hopefully getting better. She was asleep when I went to see her before. I'll like it better when she can talk because it must really frustrate her that she can't at mo because of the traciostomy.

Auntie is still in intensive care too. 45% chance of living. Which is terrible because it turns out it's because of a botched operation 5 years ago and no one had any idea until now.

One of the twins has got an infection, but the other's doing fantastic now. So I'm going to see them this week if I havn't had the baby. My sister's not too well at the moment so I've been spending some time with her.

Sorry - dinner/bath and bed called!

Glad things seem OK except for your auntie. Fingers crossed she will pull through ok.

Any more pains?
