Hi guys,

I need some help/advice, im currently entering my 40th week of pregnancy and as the impending labour looms ever closer i have been going over my pain relief options. I had decided that i didnt want an epidural as the last time i had it (8 yrs ago) it only worked on my left side and didnt change after top ups! has anyone ever had this happen but in subsequent pregnancies the epidural worked fine? i still only plan to go with gas and air and if needs really must then i will have some pethadine....well thats the plan anyway!

Thanks xxxx

Hi, i had a epidural with dd2, when they first gave it to me it only worked down one side then they mooved the needle and it numbed from my waist down apart from a small patch on my bottom which i felt pain evry time i had a contraction. I loved the epidural and had a lovely birth unlike with dd1 when i had no pain relief what so ever
