Is this the loss of my mucous plug, or just heavy discharge?

I'm so eager for his labour to kick off, I had dd at 37wks and am now 37+5 with db2.

For the last week I've been finding snotty discharge that started off the size of a pea, but is now much more. I didn't get this with dd, I just went straight into pinky show/loss of hind waters and instant labour.

Is this just regular heavy discharge? Or if it is the plug coming away will I still be waiting weeks for labour to start? I so want this baby out, although I'm having anxiety dreams about having to go through labour again - in fact I'm sh*t scared about it!

if it is like white jelly i think it has something to do with your plug but it does not mean labour imminent iyswim?
i had white jelly stuff for about 2 weeks before ds2 arrived.
i would say, on a slightly different note, be prepared for this one to come much quicker than the first did. i totally forgot and went straight into 2min contractions with ds2. it was all over within 4 hours.

once you do lse the plug, it wont be long i wouldnt think.

im sure someone will be along to correct me in due course!

IME, the show is very distinctive - literally a lump of jelly rather than anything that could be confused for discharge. But I guess all women are different.

Good luck!

My show was like thick creamy snot (lovely!) so it could be that it's coming away gradually...

hanifah, yes that could have been it. IIRC my labour didn't start for about a week after I first had a show.

with ds1 i had lumps of pink or clear but streaked snotty jelly - lol

with ds2 i lost white jelly like thick stuff over a period of 1-2 weeks.

it was different both times for me.

big lump of snot !! then a week of mucous ( clear ish ) then DD arrived on her due date!

discharge at this stage tends to be creamier and more liquidy, whereas the show has a more mucousy, snot like texture

my plug with dd2 came in dribs and drabs until I vaccuumed the house top to bottom. Then got a Huge blob. Was not bloody tho. They aren't always. was about 3 days b4 labour began.
With dd1 had little bit and lost the better part of it during active labour at the hospital.
