Hi everyone!
Have called the midwife and they are coming to see me tomorrow but just wanting some advice in the meantime..
Had a caesarean 10 days ago, been ok up until now but when cleaning my scar today noticed here's a small hole right at the corner of my incision!
What will midwifes do and how long will it take to close up?

I had this, they didn't do anything it just took longer than the rest to heal. It closed eventually X

I had this too - one at each edge of scar. It took a while to heal and the scar tissue seems "weaker" there.

After my second csection (I've had 5), the day the stitch was removed, I stood up from being on the toilet and felt wetness running down the front of my thighs. Turned out my round had split open at one end and I had a hole about 3.5 inches long with stuff leaking out!

Taken back to the delivery ward and the doc came and had a look but said they can't stitch it back up as it risks stitching in an infection so they just bandaged me up and sent me home again. Took 6 weeks of visits every other day from a district nurse to change the dressing and pack it with fresh ones before it was fully healed.

It didn't get infected just had to make sure and keep it clean. I would say mine was a centimetre max. It did take ages to close over but it finally did in the end X

I had a small but that wouldn't heal. Things were tried including honey and silver (?) to make it heal faster, but it took its own sweet time. Good reason not to do too much too soon. I think I was two months all in, but it had very little impact on me other than needing to get dressings done. It wasn't sore. Best of luck yours may be much quicker.

I had a hole right in the middle and it did get infected. But I was very squeamish and couldn't look at the scar once I'd seen the hole, so to be honest I didn't do all the obvious things, like make sure it was properly dry etc. If you take care with it, it will be fine.

Mine opened back in Nov after section number 2. It was maybe a centimetre opening, and got infected after I did too much. I had a week of antibiotics and found tea tree oil really helped.

Ah I had this at one end of mine, only about a centimetre but it did start to get red and sore. Every time I went to the toilet I dabbed it with cotton wool and cooled boiled water to keep it clean and then a little bit of Savlon cream, and kept a panty liner pressed against it as a dressing to keep it clean. It took a few weeks to heal over.

I've had this too. But mostly I'm delighted to see one poster with 5 and another with 4 sections, and the thread isn't about having lots of of the. Yay! It must be becoming more usual. (4th booked for June)

Don't worry! Mine took 5 months to close fully, just kept it clean with a wet wipe in meantime and laid on my back a few times a day to let it air.
