37 weeks - pains in cervix(?) during and after walking

I'm 37+4 weeks and for 2-3 weeks have been getting really sharp pains in what feels like my cervix when walking and for some time afterwards. It's a sort of sharp constant pain that sometimes stops me in my tracks and carries on for perhaps 30 minutes - an hour afterwards.

Is this normal/has anyone else had it? The midwife suggested SPD but that doesn't sound right to me given the location. It doesn't feel like it's my pelvis at all, but my cervix/bum!

Thank you Smile

I'm also 37 weeks (with DC2) and get occasional stabby pains low down when I'm walking. It's not SPD as I have that as well not too badly, thank goodness, but it's completely different. The stabby pain I get sounds like what you describe except that it doesn't last more than a minute. I assumed it was to do with pressure from the baby's head bearing down. Personally I don't think it's anything to worry about this is the point where things just start to get a bit achey!

I've been told its babys head engaging/moving down thus sitting on cervix. Doesn't last as long as you describe but is quite frequent

I had that from about 38 weeks, although i went right up to 42 weeks and was induced. It was a realky sharp pain that sometimes stopped me in my tracks. I've heard it referred to on here as fanny daggers!

I wondered if it is the "fanny daggers" Grin

I didn't get it with DC1 and the baby's head isn't engaged. Between this, the Braxton hicks and the joint pain I'm pretty much done with walking!
