I had emcs with dd but I really can't remember when I was able to lift her up out of the mose basket. What have other people found? Also was anyone discharged the next day from hospital? I have been told I have to stay in two nights but I'm hoping if I'm done early I could go home the next afternoon I have lots of support at home

Thank you! 24 hours sounds about right. I think last time I was too scared

I was terrified after my first EMCS that my stomach was going to fall out so I barely did anything for days.

This time, after EMCS with DTs, I was lifting both of them within about 24 hours.

My stomach did not fall out Grin

I was able to lift DS out of his cot 12 hours later as the nurse on the ward refused to pass him to me

I also went home the next day. Good luck Smile

24 hours for me to. I went home after 3 nights and was fine with that too.

As soon as I could stand up - a few hours. I was advised not to lift anything heavier than my baby, so picking her up from Moses was fine.

The thing I couldn't do and was strongly advised against, was to twist sideways to pick her up (the Moses was next to the bed). I got up and faced it straight on each time to pick her up.

Thanks for that Gillian. I can remember someone not telling me to pick her up and then I was just too scared to for a good few days. I'll be on my own second night this time and wanted to be able to pick baby up on my own. So that's made me feel much more confident

An hour maybe.
But I then stayed in for five days.
(Normal for the hospital- private)
