I was planning on doing hypnobirthing classes and found a provider I think is great, she charges £275 per couple for 4 x 2 hours sessions. My husband thinks this is kind of expensive, what are your thoughts? Is this the going rate?

I think that's a good price and it will be worth every penny.

I think that sounds about right but personally it was too expensive for me so I found an alternative call Daisy birthing classes which I found amazingly helpful to get me prepared for birth. In fact so much so that I did 2 back to back courses. Which were a far more affordable price for me (although it is ladies only). thedaisyfoundation.com/daisy-birthing/

There is daisy birthing in my area- Cardiff but I definitely want my husband to be there he's the one who will have to keep me focused / sane!

Hi. I am a Natal Hypnotherapy practitioner practitioner based in CardiffCardiff (You, Me & Baby). I run group courses for couples which cost £180, or individual sessions for £220. I also have a weekly Pregnancy Relaxation Hour for women only which is £6 a session and includes a guided relaxation followed by the chance to discuss any issues or concerns you may have, and chat to other mums to be. My couples courses are really thorough and have a real focus on the birth partner, teaching you both some really useful practical techniques to use.

I bought a cd for £11 and found it really helpful alone, I don't think I'd have got extra benefit from doing the classes, in fact giving up so many evenings/weekends in the run up to having dc1 would have caused stress!

Every single couple that has attended my course can tell you how much more it helped over just listening to the CD. Me also with my first baby....the course was invaluable to me but especially my husband!
