We left it till after the 6 week check, just to be sure. Not that we ever have time anyway now!!

I would have thought it would be ok as soon as you stop bleeding and are comfortable.. in a comfortable position where your scar isn't going to be hurt. My sis had a section and had sex 9 days later after her loss had stopped. (I only know this cos I asked her after I had ds!)

i waited until after 6 week check, to be sure all was well....but if you are ready...go for it!!

after 6 weeks check for me. But things had changed 'down below' - and although it was a c section I had pain during penetration and we had to stop. It wasn't because of the scar. It took a few attempts before we could do it without pain. Now I don't know if it's because I had a failed delivery with ventouse and it caused 'damage' or it's because I was nervous, or because the 'texture' changes in teh vagina because of hormones. Anyone else had the same prolem?

Blueberrypancake- I also had an unsuccessful ventouse hadn't really considered that it might cause problems. I'll bear it in mind.

Mustrunmore- agree we haven't really got the time either but starting to feel sorry for dh now!

I don't think we managed it until about 8 weeks. I didn't have a 6 week check, but that was the earliest I felt up to it.
at 9 days - how?!

lol he was her first child, and she lives with her mil who always looked after the child That was quite a few years ago too lol Needless to say it was a while before I was able after having ds and dd..with dd I had failed ventouse and ended up dd being delivered with forceps

a traumatic vaginal delivery...that has resulted in tears to the vaginal wall, or a deep tear to the perineum or an episiotomy may have an impact on how you heal and if sex is comfortable...if causing pain or problems..best to get it checked out...

ventouse & forceps are done with an episiotomy..so the way it is stitched afterwards may have an impact.....

being nervous might certainly make you more tense...don;t hurry things..the right time is when you feel ready....

it;s a sensitive topic...but if you are suffering pain with intercourse, it is worth being checked out ...

I think we were given the OK at the 6 week check, but tbh I don't think I felt like it for 2 or 3 months. Things definitely felt different for quite a few months but did get back to normal eventually.
