Sex after childbirth

Anyone with experience how long after giving birth did sex feel normal, I had my first baby just over three months ago its so sore when we try is it just too soon? Thanks

It depends what happened to you. For example it can take up to six months for an episiotomy to heal but sex could be ok well before then. Also breastfeeding tends to make you less lubricated than usual. Plus I found that it took time for me to relax and believe that it wouldn't hurt.

Lubricant and patience hopefully will help get you mentally and physically in the right place?

Thanks, I had a normal vaginal delivery no tears stitches etc, stopped breastfeeding a month ago, I think it could be partly mental too
