Car seats

Rear Facing 18m+ in a Renault Scenic

I have a Renault Scenic with underfloor compartments, but I have my heart set on a rear facing car seat until LO is 4. Is there ANY car seat out there you could suggest (ideally one that doesn't involve me taking out a 2nd mortgage!)

Thanks all.

The Joie seats Tilt, Stages and Steadi all rear face until 18kg I think and don't have the support leg.

I'm pretty sure that the BeSafe range of seats are good in a Scenic. Don't forget you have a decent amount of room to play with, and also that you can slide the rear seats about - you may be able to slide the seat forward a little so that the foot prop of an ERF seat would miss the lid of the very annoying and completely useless storage boxes

Joie stages or Britax two way elite.

What about the Britax Two Way? Has no support leg

I thought the Scenic has an isofix point on the centre seat which doesn't have a storage compartment? You can also fill the compartment with an approved substance I believe.
Not much help other than that sorry, we have the Cybex Sirona which is a fab seat, but it has a support leg.

You can fit a cybex syrona in a car with underfloor storage, you fit the leg to the bottom of the compartment and they do a leg extension too, I know this as my car has underfloor storage and we have a cybex, luckily for me the foot rested on the floor before the compartment so didn't have to faf too much, I'd highly recommend an independent retailer such as Paul stride (York) they were super helpful. There is a Facebook group-rear facing the way forward which should be able to point you in the direction of someone else if York is too far Smile

Just a quick note to say if you are interested in the sirona kiddicare are selling them off. We bought one today that was the plus so normally £415 but they had it marked down to £300. They only had display model left so reduced it to £240 and we then used morrissons card which gave us an extra 10% off so down to £216! Can't wait to start using it as it really looks a fabulous seat.
