Why can Britax Kidfix not fit the same MPV seats as the Kidplus?

When checking the compatibility of these seats with our VW Touran it says the Kidfix (our prefered seat) can only fit in the 2 main 2nd row seats, but the Kidplus can fit in the front, all 3 2nd row seats, and both 3rd row seats (all 6 passenger seats). This will be very limiting as we regularly swap around the seats depending on who's in the car. Plus we really want an isofix seat.

This doesn't make sense to me as the Kidfix is basically the same seat unit and can be fitted with a belt only too, just like the Kidplus. So why can't it fit the same seats? I can't ring them until Mon possibly Wed and I need an answer so I don't miss the sales, typical!

If anyone can shed any light on this I would be very grateful. Thanks, Trees

I would recommend trying it. We have Two kidfix in my dh car they were in mine but as the kids got taller they didn't fit as you extended the headrest. It hit the side of the car. I now have maxi cosy air in my car which have a elastic strap thing that clips to the back of the adult head rest which should stop them flying to far if the kids aren't in them and I have a accident which is the only benefit for isofix in this group. The kid fix is very heavy so if you move them alot a would look at the maxi cosy. I think they will also fit my girls for alot longer as they have more room by the shoulders

I think Britax only state what seats it fits when in ISOFIX mode. So if the middle 2nd row seat/front seat or 3rd row seats dont have isofix points then Britax will say it dosent fit them. The kidfix is just the isofix version of the kid pluss so if Britax say that fits in the other seats then as long as you tuck the isofix arms away then the Kidfix will fit in them too.
