if your child is old enough to be in a highback booster do you really need a recline on it?

safety-wise, I don't know, sorry

Only 3 stars for front crash protection in Which.
That was my dilemma with another seat - it was amazingly comfy and reclined but very poor crash data, so not really a dilemma at all.

Ferofix safety not tested in relation to others yet by Which but I'm assuming it's good. We're going for the Britax kidfix with small recline but good safety.

I do a lot of long journeys alone with him, and night time sleeping. I don't want to stop to have adjust the recline. Any temp/holiday seats he's had, he's really not comfy sleeping.
Will look at the which safety results, thanks

The ferofix recline seems to be much better than the Britax and more padded according to the MANY reviews I have read.
We do very few long journeys and so this has influenced my decision the other way (and price - kiddicare doing 10% off at the mo)!

The other seat I really considered was the Recaro Monza seatfix - which was highly recommended by salesperson in JL. It feels completely luxurious compared to the Ferofix but safety-wise is a no go for me.

Kiddy cruiserfix pro has a recline and also has more safety stars than any other from Which in this class i.e it's at the top!
No idea about the recline though it claims to have some. I didn't like the headrests, they were a little solid for my liking when I saw it today...very solid!

ahh ok.

might not be suitable still, but we have the britax adventure and DS1 has slept ok in it as the side wings round the head are really nicely shaped, but it does mean he is still quite upright.

how old/heavy is your little one?

He's 4, right on the 18kg weight limit. I had to weigh up the safety with seat belt or harness with weight limit as he really couldn't be trusted with just seat belt.
Will look at everything suggested here, I think there's a few new choices now, thanks.

yeah it's a hard choice, and very little choice once you hit that 18kg limit!

Not sure how it compares with the others but we have 2 ferofixes and they're great. The recline isn't much and I have them on the recline position all the time as we do lots of long journeys.
Both dcs (4 and 3) very comfy in them.

Britax Evolva 123?
Not isofix though.

Wonder long it would be before he rejected the idea of being in a "baby" seat though. Mine wouldn't entertain it. Eldest is 17.6kg so have got to move fast on this!

the only forward facing seat with a harness suitable for children over 18kg is the britax 2 way elite, which can be used up to 25kg

has a recline, but you have to remove the seat to set it, although neither of mine were bothered about it being permanently reclined!

thanks

it's between the Ferofix and the the Kiddy Cruiserfix Pro, but I cannot find how the Kiddy one reclines, it has a leg extension, but can't view the recline and how easy it is

JL do, I had both side by side...
Let us know what you decide as I am now just nosy (kidfix arrive Fri).

The assistant was trying to tell me that the ONLY advantage Isofix has over a belted seat is that it keeps the seat in place when not in use (having just come back off a safety course).
I think there's slightly more to it than that, and spouted off lots of Which test results.

I can't add too much to the discussion but did recieve my kiddy cruiserfix pro 2 days ago. I LOVE it! DS is keen too!! It doesn't recline, however my back seats do so I've got that one covered for the time being.

The kiddy cruiser pro does recline so if that is more important I would go for that one. The is our first isofix seat, the others being kiddy infinitys. The isofix on this seat is handy as I have a 4x4 so the seat is high up. DS grabs the armrest to pull himself in, the seat is weighted higher up coz of the extensions, and without isofix he would topple the seat sideways on to his head until he got bigger.

The seat is very well padded, super easy to adjust and funky. The safety tests are on which, the kiddy site and youtube. No downsides yet. PLO are selling the demim version for £114.

I have just tried my kidfix seat in my friends car and how much it reclines depends on where you issofix is in you car. Hers was so far back the the seat was on the recline setting but was sitting up it wouldn't have go on the sat up setting. her fixings are a long way back

sobenobu the JL assistant is right!

Which is a consumer report, not a safety report so their results are often skewed!
