Besafe izi combi X2 - a few questions

I've seen this seat for a really good price (belted, not isofix). I just had a couple of questions though.

Would you still buy it, or would you splash out for the new version? Is the X3 much better?

Also, do you think it fits the same cars as the X3? Our car is on the X3 list, but not the X2. I think that might just be because our car is unavailable to buy in the UK, and I found a UK X2 manual and an EU X3 one, but I can't find an alternative X2 one to check.

Is belted as safe as isofix? Will we be able to fit it properly do you think?

Thanks very much and sorry for all the questions.

hi, sorry i don't know about the seat but you could email besafe, www.hts.no/uk/press/contact.php i found them very helpful when i wanted to but the seat but not sure if it would fit in my car! belted seats are as safe as isofix when rf as long as they are installed properly. again i don't know how to fit these seats but if you look on you tube there should be videos and i'm sure you can read instructions! Wink

Thank you nicm - I've just sent them an email. :)

I had a look at the videos and I'm sure I'll be fine installing it, but Which seem to think you need a PhD in engineering to be able to fit them, so I was a bit unsure. Also seeing as we have isofix I can't help feeling it's silly not to use it. But at an additional £170, it's quite a price jump to get an isofix model!

hopefully then it will fit in your car as long as you have no underfloor storage. i had an isofix model as it was the smallest and i had to fit 3 in the back of a golf but now only have belted seats. they do take a bit longer but not ages!

ImpY, what car do you have? I have the belted X2 because it was reduced when I bought it too. I found it complicated to fit while following the instructions, but now it seems easy so I don't know what my problem was. Except that a crazy woman came to talk to me and ruined my concetraction. Hmm

It's usually in my sister's car which does have isofix, but I have no worries about its safety and it doesn't move at all.

I couldn't see the difference between the X3 and X2 personally. Presumably the difference is within the shell or something. You may be interested to know that I've got an X3 summer cover and sunshade that both fit on the X2 perfectly.

We have a Dacia Logan, I don't think you can buy them in the UK for now so no one has any clue off the top of their heads whether it will fit or not. I think we're going to have to actually visit somewhere that sells them, but if we do that I'd feel really bad about then ordering one from somewhere else because it's cheaper Confused

I think we may just bite the bullet and schlepp up to Milton Keynes and buy one from them.

Thanks very much though, if I could just be sure it would fit I'd buy it.

(And I emailed besafe, who were totally useless. They asked for several details and then said "we always recommend you go and have a car seat fitted by professional fitters to ensure it is safe." And that was it... Hmm )
