Best rearfacing for Golf?

I want to get DD a group 1 rear facing car seat - does anyone know which is best for a smallish car (Golf plus). We have Isofix.

I saw a Recaro one on amazon - is this good?

Find the whole thing very difficult to research as there don't seem to be many places you can buy them and our local shops only seem to have forward facing

hi, i had a britax two way elite and a KISS in my golf(a 2004 model). i also tried the hi-way in it and the besafe, but had to fit them in with 2 other seats so my choice was limited. i saw the recaro when i was at the in car safety centre but it looked big compared to my seats, although it's hard to judge when it's in a show room iykwim.

:)

interesting - I only have 2 kids so no concerns about a 3rd car seat but I do occassionally have to squeeze in between so the car seat can't be too big!!

I'll have a look at the britax - thanks

If it helps we have put the Be-safe Izi combi x3 in ours and it fits very nicely. It is the Isofix one so is very easy to install and it is a really comfy car seat. I hadn't realised they weren't all that comfy until I had a look in Mothercare. Some of the seats are awful!

However, at 340 quid it isn't the cheapest option.

Price is not an issue (well within reason!!)

Did you get it from mothercare?

I always find it funny when the salesmen they tell you that a baby seat is the most comfortable - how do they know!!

Ha ha!

No, it came from Paul Stride in York. They have a website with a few different ones on. I don't think Mothercare or any other big highstreet stores really sell them unfortunately. We ended up doing a 200 mile round trip to get it.

I have actually just ordered the Britax 2 way elite from the In Car Safety Centre in Essex (thanks to the very useful info on here from other Mumsnetters) which isn't isofix but does go up to 25kg so should last longer than the Be-Safe which only goes up to 18kg. I can let you know how it fits in the Golf when it comes if you like.

Yes please - that would be interesting!

Just wish I could try before I buy but there doesn't seem anywhere close (and DH has not bought into the idea enough to drive to Essex!)
