We have an Outwell and have been pleased with it.

Borrowed a Vango recently and (while very grateful for the loan) wouldn't choose one. It felt quite cheap - single ended zips not double ended, the carrying bag was falling to bits because the fabric was so thin, and the window 'curtains' wouldn't stay put as the toggles are so small they kept popping out of the loops for fastening them. I do like the Outwell tents I have seen, but have never stayed in one.

apparently the one I can afford at short notice is sold out online but have called the local store and they have 2 which they will hold until 5pm
must find way to get it, it is dome like I guess not exactly pop up as it is a 5 person one

I am too claustrophobic for small tents

tent fetish moi? you may well be right.

I'd echo mb's sentiments re pop ups - great fun for short stays.

We've got a Kansas 5 and used it for our very first trip this weekend! We were very impressed, kept us dry in quite damp conditions! The only thing is that there isn't a lot of living space if it rains so we nipped to Aldi and got their sun shelter which worked a treat (we have two little ones and a dog so bit of a squash for us all to hide in tent!) Oh and we got ours for £5 more in Millets - humph! I have now been well and truly bitten by the camping bug - why haven't I done this sooner??

both are good, although i've never had a vango (currently outwell sun valley)

truth is though- tentaholics apart (my name is peachy and i am a.....) you're ok with any of the main brands- outwell, vango, wynnster, khyam, gelert, coleman, sprayway (just to show i know the newbie brands ), wild country, cabanon- whatever
