Not really here, just a mirage of me (have given up MN for Lent but have to talk to someone about this tent.

One going for sale.....somewhere (not telling incase get sniped). Brand new, impulse buy by seller.

dare not go on ukcampsite as may spark interest (plus seller on there too)

OK, Questions (Lucycat do you have one of these...seem to recall someone with a Norfolk lake buying one)

This is for our weekend tent.

My heart needs canvas

My feet need a SIG

Ticks all those boxes plus super quick to erect.

There are 4 of us (it is a 4 berth). We sleep on regular thermarests 51cm wide), so can fit no problems but am just a teeny bit worried as the rule is go up by 2 berths. Is it going to be horridly cramped inside the bedroom?

If it is raining, would I still be able to cook under the capopy (with side shelter/wind break thingmy attached)? Really really do not want to cook in SIG tent with 2 small children rampaging about. Or will I need a kitchen tent too.

(Cannot afford the Barbados)

OK, think thats everything atm

The mirage of me will be back later to check replies

TIA

Right, I am going now before Big Boss looks over my shoulder. I have a new massive screen and the resolution isn't properly set, so my screen can be clearly read from outer space at the moment!

Howdy slubber - sorry hello to the mirage that is slubber

Been a bit bogged down with work / parents evenings etc myself recently but I am very of a Cabanon, luverly tent, very stylish. The main issue will be the weight and the fact that they are cotton so if they get wet they will be even heavier and a bugger to dry.

I'd love one as a weekend tent but dh would kill me if we bought more tents. If it's only for weekends then a normal windbreak should be ok round the edge and if it rains go out to eat or eat cold fold!

but if it's for sale where I think you might have seen it then 2 sun canopies/ wind breaks are included in the price

Thanks Lucycat.

have just spent the morning mooching around our local camping shop, and despite no pyramides on show I still love canvas with a deep, strong passion and I'm happy to put up with the re-pitching to dry if neccessary.

It only takes 10-15 mins to pitch when you have it practiced so that's not too arduous.

Lady on ukcs was playing hard ball, and would have had to have organised & paid for a courier so I got the last 2007 model from Highbridge Caravans for a very good price.

Now I have to find somewhere to hide it as DH doesn't exactly quite know that I have bought it yet

I am more excited than I care to admit that shortly I will be the proud owner of a Cabanon.

You need one of these to sew on your campblanket

Where the hell are you going to hide it so dh doesn't see it?

Oh dear MN Lent abstinence gone pear shaped today.

re hiding place: I thought I might freecyle dd2 and just hide the Guadeloupe under her duvet. Could just tell DH that she was very tired for the next few months.

I was planning a grande suprise opening ceremony for the 1st May Bank Holiday. Thought I might pitch it in the garden while DH is at work and have cold beers, excellent sausages on BBQ and possibly me naked within the tent when he gets in from work.
How could he possibly be mad with me when faced with such a campers delight scenario?

No no no no no!!!! Please, no joyous tales of the thrills of buying real canvas!!! If DH sees this he may become uncontrollable!!!

completely unecessary need to edit my post re ukcs lady

I would have had to organise and pay for courier.

Made myself sound like a lazy and greedy so and so. I am not, but I am thrifty.

Lent resolution utterly utterly destroyed today, damnable mn camping threads.

Will have to do day of penance on sunday and maybe come back on monday.

Is that OK?

Not sure if I am talking to mn or God now. Sorry God. It IS a Cabanon we are talking about. I know you would aprove.
