Camping

need to buy massive tent - anyone got an Outwell Nebraska XXL

We like the look of it but wonder if campsites will say it's too largew and charge for 2 pitches. Also wonder if the biggest compartment divides into two and how easy it is tro put up. Could you do it for a w/e? Any other recommendations for large bright and airy family tents gratefully received! There are 6 of us by the way to get inside!

How refreshing, a camping thread, just what the doctor ordered...

Haven't got an Outwell but just had to post on a camping thread on Boxing Day!

Outwells are an excellent brand. We have an Outwell and it is first rate and hasn't given us any problems.

You might well get cagrges for two pitches, some places do, sone don't. But TBH you will need a big tent with 6 of you. You will really need a sleeps 12 tent if you are going to have enough space, unless you are real down to basics campers who will sleep on mats!

Seriously nice tent. Try to see it (and others ) up as it gives you a better idea.

We like the Ourwells and they have a lot of head room.

Kbear, it's never wet and windy here!

How many bedrooms are you looking for? Something like the new Vango Amazon (or old vango Vail) might be better as it's a tunnel design so takes up less room on a pitch but is still light and roomy!

iirc Yeomans Outdoors stock the Nebraska as we looked at one oitched at one of their shows last year. If you live anywhere around Derby or northwards then their shows are great.

Here is their website with the show locations on it.

Tis a huge tent - but very nice!

this is what we bought last year and would HIGHLY recommend it. It is HUGE, we also got a canopy for the front to make it bigger. The sleeping pods do fit 2, and they are full height which mak it all seem bigger. DH and I slept on one side in a BIG room, my kids slept opposite in one room per child, BUT they had loads of space and could easily have fitted both in one room.

I LOVE THIS TENT!!

We've just seen the sunvalley 8 2008 model and are in love with it! Think it's the one for us - more of a tunnel tent. Outwell seems to get god write ups so I think we'll be pre-ordering this one as soon as the shop opens on Weds!

They are nice, the canopy is a great idea too as is the improved layout.

Can you get it for less than \link{http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop/Detail.asp?ProductID=761\ÂŁ399?)

we have the 'velcro upwards' curtains in ours and it's amazing the difference it makes instead of zipping ones!

We have only had a tunnel design and our friends with domes are always amamzed at how easy they are to put up (and quick!)

We have a Wynnster Mercury 9 and we have put that up for just the weekend before now.

It takes us about an hour to get it pitched and get everything set up and it has masses of room for our needs. one large bedroom pod and 2 smaller ones on the other side of the living area. We can also get a table and chairs set up inside it, which is handy for dark nights.

I can't wait for the warmer weather to be here so we can go camping again - lets hope this summer is better than last years.

Jordan, did you say?

Can I have a go?

'Jordan is a lively member of the class who can, when he chooses, produce work of a satisfactory level. His time management skills can be poor and sometimes he lacks concentration. To improve, Jordan needs to focus on the lesson aims, and make sure he completes the tasks set in the class, as well as his homework'

How did I do?

We've never been charged for 2 pitches for it BTW.

VANGO DIABLO 900!!

Thats the one. Blimey- had to trawl the net to find it out- too cold to walk up the garden, into the shed to see what it was.

Anyway- its a very good, large tent. lots of space!

mb - not far off!

Done them all - just the planning to do now!

I have fond memories of hanging onto next door's Diablo last Whit in Wales while they tried to pitch it while it took off like a kite - they couldn't get the outer tent over the already pitched inner!

A great friendship maker - tent pitching!

We got a trailer tent which is nice n spacious - easily sleep 6 if you can put two together in one upper bedroom. Bonus of course is that you can get off the ground. Got to say though, we have upgraded now and got a caravan for this year just so we can go for weekends and not have to put up accommodation first.
