Camping 'in terminal decline'. I don't know where they've been doing their research but judging by how hard it is to book a site sometimes I don't think they can be right. I was under the impression that camping had recently become 'trendy' what with all the designer tents and whatnot.

Everywhere I go people are extolling the vrtues of camping.

I hate it. Absolutely hate it. But I know so many people who give up a warm comfy bed in a warm safe house with hot and cold running water to camp in a field with a flimsy sheet of nylon between them and the elements...

I adore camping (and I live in Scotland!)

It is a great family holiday and the kids always, in my experience love it....I pay no attention to what is 'fashionable' or not...the question I ask is 'will we all have a great time and is it value for money?'

Let's face it, kids at a young age love all that kind of thing....especially if you make it like an adventure for them!!

Mind you, after one too many glasses of wine trying to make it to the loos is a challenge!!

Well we did 5 camping trips this summer, and each time campsites were very busy and we had a fab time and were very lucky with the weather. For one of our trips we must have rung at least 15 campsites before we finally found one with vacancies (well i must have electric hook up) and it was 25 miles away from where we wanted to go.

I know lots of people who go camping for weekends but they take their main holiday abroad, not us though we love camping
