Hi,

We are catching the train to Avignon and picking up a car there....last year we went toward ardeche gorge here
www.camping-indigo.com/en/le-moulin-indigo-campsite-france.html
which was ok... great to be near river and easy walk to village
then we went here
www.campinglespins.com/
beautiful lake to swim in and being able to walk to village again good for bar/baker/deli etc but pitches quite small and car park like...

This year we fancy somewhere more 'provencey' but not sure what are - considering near st remy provence like here;

www.camping-monplaisir.fr/camping-bouches-du-rhone/
but worried site bit car parky, not very scenic...

also considering Luberon or maybe up near Uzes...like here
www.le-moulin-neuf.fr/
not sure you can hire fridges here and am a bit worried about 'entertainment' as trips have been spoiled in the past by entertainment..

am having a nightmare as can't pick area...probably dont want to drive more than 2hrs from Avignon...my campsite wishlist is possibly a bit much but am looking for
pool - essential
fridge/fridge block to hire
no or minimal entertainment
walk to village/sm town
pitches not too small and car parky - dont need to be massive as tent not huge but some have been quite tight with tent and car as usually dont need electric

scenic! ...its area thats bothering most think If I work out area will have to keep digging for site.......unless anyone has recommendation which would be fab Grin......................
blimey bit long am not a fussy bigger alwaysmuch just want chilled rose Wine in peace

You could try Chateau De Boisson (don't know how to do links from tablet -sorry! - but try googling). It ticks all your boxes EXCEPT walking distance to village. It's in a tiny hamlet and there has been a small shop for bread there in the past couple of summers, but for anything else you need a car. It has 2 pools and you can sit on the terrace overlooking the outdoor one with a glass of rose. It's between the Ardeche to the north and the Cevennes to the west so not really Provence but it's very scenic. We drive to the market in Uzes - takes about 40 mins. 40 mins the other way and you can canoe on the Ardeche.

Evening entertainment is minimal - weekly disco last year (in fact, one of the main complaints about the campsite is lack of entertainment, but that's why we like it). The top half of the site by the château is nicer and closer to the pool/bar/restaurant but more noisy for the disco. I'd go for one of the larger pitches there if any are available. We've been there for the last few years (can't persuade the dcs to go somewhere different) - we go at the end of August so it's a bit quieter then.

Checkout La Domains de la Bergerie near St Aygulf/ Fréjus. Fantastic site. We've been going there for years.

L'Elzet gites in the Cevennes are amazing. Not camping I know but the scenery is fantastic. We spent a week there after camping on the coast and had the best time. Has a pool, local shop and restaurant and loads to do in the area.

Kids still ask every year to go back.
