any good campsites near Northampton for a camping virgin?!!

Eeek!! taken me all summer to persuade DH t try camping andwe're off next weekend with some friends. Does anyone know of any good camspites not too far from Northampton in case weneed to do a runner!!! Worriedabout rain and maoning dh's!!!! ta!

Billing Aquadrome looks quite good. not stopped there but drove through trying to find a camping shop in the middle of it!

I've heard that Billing is a bit of a nightmare actually...noisy and poor facilities for tenters.My brothers got a static caravan there and he's alright with noise but said i'd hate it.

Wicksteed park is supposed to be nice.. very basic facilities and no ehu...but quiet and you can pitch where you like.
All hearsay though...have you looked on UKCampsite?

I know that Wicksteed hasn't got any shower facilities at the moment if that's any help.

thanks!! We live in Northampton so don't think we'll go to Billing - but too Butlinsy for us! Will look at Peterborough and OLney. We've also heard about Rutland - anyone been?

hi i live in northampton and billing aquadrome is very popular. all depends on where you have your tent to what noise you hear aswell some spots better then others.
