Il de Re campsites - strict changeover days

A couple of sites I really like are only allowing saturday or sunday changeover days. How strict are they?

Also, do campsites ever keep pitches free for campers who just turn up?

am clutching at straws here

our campsite in the Vendee says similar on their website, but I've always emailed directly and never had a problem. Although, I've always booked pretty early on. Good luck!

Hi (again) shiraz!
I've finally found somewhere on Il de Re, so have paid a deposit and am awaiting a final confirmation from the campsite. It's 'Camping La Tours De Prises' and it looks a lovely site.
We had to compromise on the waterpark aspect - this site has a pool but no slides so DC will be a little disappointed though. But of course, it means that we can cycle to all our destinations once there, and of course we'll be close ish to the coast. Sequia park on the mainland almost tempted me but I think I'd always wonder about Il de Re so at least I can book Sequia park for next year.
Getting excited now. I have to buy a new table and chairs so I may even invest in a tablecloth

oooh exciting!

We're doing the Vendee (again) same site. Something we swore we'd never do. It just worked so well last year, and was great with my (then) 18 month old. Visited a few other sites when we were there and decided we liked it the most, so it's not like we're being naive.
