Long term overweight (6 st to lose), 51yrs , PCOS sufferer - have taken up cycling in last year (I did the L2B 2015 in 6h30m) so not complete couch potato but whilst my DP is lovely and encouraging, he is just so much fitter than me and I can't keep up Blush

I'd love to chat with someone in similar boat who wants to lose weight and get fitter - I use Strava, Garmin and Fitbit, as well as MN. I'm based in Kent.

Anyone interested in buddying up?

Not sure if I'll be any use, I've been conscious of my weight creeping up for a while now and today I weighed myself and worked out my BMI and I need to loose around 2 stone to be in normal range. I'm not a fan of exercise apart from walking the dogs and I don't get the time to do much more but I want to make the effort to try and I have absolutely no will power when it comes to cake.

It's great that your cycling do you enjoy it and get to do it often?

Hi there
I'm in Kent too and relatively new to cycling (did nightrider last year) and whilst I've now lost most of my excess weight (3stone gone) I've still got at least another 1 to go but mainly desperate not to put it all back on . I've signed up for Hever triathlon in September as I'm afraid that whilst great for general fitness, I'm finding cycling alone doesn't help with weight loss and I need something to work towards. I'm gradually getting better at running now up to 5-6km but a pretty rubbish swimmer so that's my job for the summer Confused

What other exercise do you enjoy? Is there a new challenge you could work towards ( triathlon maybe Wink) or is there a class you could try?

A big fan of strava and mapmyride/run as I love seeing my progress (& how many calories I've burnt Grin)
