Will she ever come back - week 4 of nursing strike

DD is almost 8 months, and we are in week 4 of nursing strike. She stopped BF almost overnight, and cried/arched away if I tried to hold her near anywhere my breast.

There has been some v slow progress - I can now hold her near my breast (as long as not in nursing position), and she is now playing with my nipples, and twice has leant forward to bite them !

But still no signs of her wanting to feed. I am giving her EBM from a beaker instead. We have tried a bit of co-sleeping (not too keen to go down this road, given she sleeps well generally), bathing together, skin-to-skin, and generally relaxing - think this has helped.

But not sure where to go from here? And has anyone else known a baby come back to breast after so long? I am feeling that this might be it

I am no help at all, but lots of hugs. it must be so hard for you. well done for expressing. are you at home full time or working?

i hope things work out and someone else has advice.

Rather than co-sleep during the night, I co-slept with ds for his naps.

I stripped naked and we laid in bed together. DS was mostly fed (before the strike) with me laying down, so I would put him in the right position for feeding, but didn't force him to feed - iyswim. After a few days of this, I started to offer him the breast while he was dozy and about to drop off. After a few attempts it worked.

thanks weasle, i'm at home at the moment, thankfully, so managing to express 2 or 3 times a day (luckily builders moving out soon so this will become easier!).

i'm expressing in hope that she will come back to breast, but also because i can't give her formula - we are awaiting allergy test results after recent scare.

good idea moveit about co-sleeping during he day - might give that a go. haven't fed DD lying down since she was tiny, but will see what happens. she seems to be looking at breasts differently now - after 3.5 weeks of feeding from a beaker, am worried she's forgotten what BF is all about / just not interested anymore (or something put her off so badly she's not prepared to try again).
