Am pretty determined to get to 6 months exclusive breastfeeding...Encourage me not to give formula or solids at this point!

What's happening?

He has never been a good sleeper but now wakes constantly-Sunday night he was up every 40 mins.

I am surrounded by people saying give him some formula, or give him baby rice and although I know really that it probably won't make a difference (didn't for dd anyway) part of me wants to just try and see if it does...

I just need a bit of virtual support to help me make it to 6 months (I don't know anyone in RL who has done so)

claireybee - I made it to 6 months exclusively breastfeeding and so has my friend with her ds.

Keep reminding yourself it could be the 5 month growth spurt I understand it can be a nasty one.

Seems he has had a constant growth spurt from about 2 weeks old!

I remember the same sort of thing happening with my DS2. I fed him for 14 months in all, and didn't start weaning until 6 months. Up until then, he had exclusively breast fed.

I can recall a time, several months in, when I just seemed to be constantly feeding, day and night. It was pretty exhausting, but you do get through it.

Keep up the good work, claireybee. I know it seems tough now, but I'm sure things will settle. Just think what an achivement it will be for you to make it to 6 months.

Good luck!

The past couple of days he has been a nightmare to feed-tugging at the breast, squeezing it with both hands while feeding, throwing himself back, screaming after the first breast, and the second, and the third...

Am guessing he is trying to up my supply but my god it is exhausting!
