Tell me about double electric pumps

because dd is wolfing 10oz a day at nursery and my trusty TT handpump can't keep up

I see from the archives the Ameda Lactaline is widely liked, but I'd like to know some practicalities.

The base unit looks quite big and heavy - is it?
How much of it needs to be washed (or chilled) between uses?

Could I (eg) leave the base under the table in the junkroom at work where I express and carry the tubes/funnels etc in and out in a sandwich box / coolbag?

Work are good up to a point but my colleagues re not babyfriendly so the more discreet I can be the better...

I had an Amelda Symphony hospital grade double pump which was a lifesaver! - the actual pump is quite big but can be left where needed and you can just cart the other bits in and out -is also superquick so no sitting around for days and days

oh thank you!

how big are the 'other bits'?
this kind of thing?
or more like this?

(assuming I decant from the attached bottles into freezer bags after every session)

The Lactaline base unit is about 20cmx10cm, and 5cm high. Only any significant weight if you put batteries in.
Only the actual collection horn is washed/chilled. I carried it all in my little rucksac with 4 collection sets plus bottles and a book, so really very discreet. I could fit the base unit, two collection heads and the Ameda bottles in my little Lakeland black lunch coolbag when I was travelling - I think its the sandwich cooler on link1

oh excellent

as you had 4 did you use a clean 'collection set' (this is the funnel/horn bit?) every time then?

When I was pumping twice a day, yes - when it was three times I washed one set in really hot water and washing up liquid and reused it the next time. I kept all the sterile bits in c here, and then put them into a plastic bag to go home.
As I was at work ft, I expressed straight into the Avent bottles, plus the Ameda ones, and then decanted to make up full feeds in the Avent ones and any left over either waited in the fridge till the next day to go with that excess into freezer bag(fresh milk into freezer, yesterdays into next days bottles), or went straight into freezer bag. I only ever froze it straight off if it was a bank holiday weekend, or we were going to be off.
