BF...& sleeping baby

HI, am Bf DD who is 2 weeks old at mo. MW are happy that baby is latching on correctly, she's nice & pink, & having plenty of wet & dirty nappies a day. But whenever I feed her, she always falls asleep, is this normal????

I always offer both sides, and she tends to feed off the first for about 25mins. I've tried everything to keep her awake, from tickling her feet, to blowing in her face, changing her nappy, but as soon as she goes back on the breast she falls asleep. Do I just have a lazy baby, or has any1 else experienced this???

Thanks xx

If she is feeding for 25 mins and gaining weight it sounds normal, she is probably just very comfortable at her favourite place (titty lodge my MIL calls it!)

Does she get the drunk on milk face?

Stop it you are making me broody, especially the comment about the "drunk on milk" face.

Arhian many congratulations on your newborn. She sounds adorable. Lots of them do this for the first few weeks. It may all change in the next month or so. My dd1 would stay on the breast all day if I let her. It wasn't sore at all so I let her, we were both happy with the arrangement.
I used to have a little table next to the sofa - drinks, food (lots of), remote controls, book and phone. Loved it.

xx
