Yes it certainly is possible - but may be difficult. Lots of skin to skin contact is good. Help from a bf counsellor (phone NCT or other bf organisation), pump to get milk going some more (and you can feed her the ebm). You may be able to get a Lactaid from one of said organisations. This is a piece of equipment whereby you put the baby to your breast and your milk is supplemented by a tube containing either ebm or formula.

Good luck.

I think that babes use a different sucking action to feed from a bottle then from the breast. it may be that your baby has forgotten how to feed from you. I think there are sheilds that you can get but I'm not too sure. You should ask your hv or ask her for the number for the breast feeding support team at the hospital.

FGS do not ask a hv unless you know she has some expertise on the subject. Most of them know sweet f a about bf.

It is indeed possible, but by no means easy or certain....but there is nothing to stop you giving your baby as much comfort and closeness at the breast as you want, whether or not she builds up milk again.

Call the helplines tomorrow
