Which formula for a sicky 6 month old?

My daughter is 6 months old and has for the last two months been a real vomiter? Not huge amounts like projectile but small and extremely often, to the point she is constantly wet around the neck? Its really getting me down (washing and change bag full to the brim with changes of clothes) and must be uncomfortable for her?

She has been on Aptamil since she was 3 weeks old, and we changed her to Cow and Gate last week, this has made no difference (is it correct its exactly the same as Aptamil)? I started weaning her last week and she is taking to it really well, bizarrely the only thing thats coming back up is extremely watery milk? Sometimes the vomit is completely clear?

She has (touch wood) never been ill since she was born and is an absolute delight, laid back and sleeps 12 hours straight! So I can't even put it down to illness? However she does hold her head in her hands alot and scream as if in pain, but everyone keeps telling me its 'teething' if I hear that damn word again I will scream!! Took her to the docs to check her ears and he said she was fine?

Any suggestions on what the problem could be or is it just one of those things?

Thanks

My son was sick a lot when he was a couple of months old. That was when we started using Cow and Gate Comfort milk, in the yellow tub up to 6 months, and then the blue tub.

And we used bibs called 'milk bibs' that were made of a towelling material and had a padded bit around the neck. I think they were Tommee Tippee. The cost about £3.99 for 2 inthe supermarket and were very good for helping to avoid the wetness and the rashes that follow.

Most of the milks have v similar ingredients these days, as prev mentioned you could try cow and gate comfort (tis more expensive) has less of something in it - which escapes my pregnancy brain at the mo - I want to say lactose but think that may be wrong. It says on the tin anway, normal powders have 70-80% and comfort only has 20%.

If babies have probs with reflux GP's sometimes prescribe meds to go in the feed, if continues to be a problem maybe discuss with your HV/GP?

Sorry to repeat but she could well be teething - is she slathering a lot as well? My niece started teething at 11 weeks! And I can recommend those Tommee Tippee milk bibs, my ds is a bit a dribbler when he feeds, stops him getting a rash around the neck. Can't help with the formula, as ds is bf, but my friend's baby is ff I think he is on SMA now, think he had a problem with the Aptamil. As far as I'm aware though, babies react differently to different formulas, so just because your baby is a bit sicky on one, doesn't mean another baby will be. Plus my ds is quite sicky so it might not be anything to do with the feed at all!
Hopefully someone with better knowledge can help!

Willow, this sounds similar to how my dd2 was. She was/is on Aptamil, and would always bring some back. She also had very loose poo (sorry for tmi) Since she has been on solids and is now on only 21 ounces of milk per day, I have had no problems whatsoever with either vomiting or loose stools. In our case, I do think dd2 has a sensitivity to lactose, as I have noticed that after having fromage frais, the consequences are not great!
