Infant feeding

I have been breastfeeding for over 2.5 years in total without one negative comment and then I get 3 in one week

Feeding DS 4mths in a restaurant and some gross fat sweaty man comes up leans over smacking his lips and says 'ooohhh what numbers that on the menu then' [vomit]

Feeding DS in town today, seemingly innocent lady cooing over him who then realises I am bfing and stutters 'oh you should think about doing that somewhere else maybe, it is rather offensive if you are not expecting it' WTFFFFFFFFF

Then on the bus another lady asks how old he is 4 mths then if I am feeding him myself, um yes , 'oh really dear ladies didn't burn their bras for nothing you know, just so you could be chained to your baby all day'

I mean seriously is it bloody freak week this week or something

blimey

the first one I would have complained to the restaurant staff

you can't go up to strangers and make lewd comments

others were idiots. The woman who said it was offensive if you weren't expecting it, take a loudhailer next time and announce "I AM ABOUT TO INSERT MY NIPPLE INTO MY CHILD'S MOUTH. I REPEAT...."

The man in the restaurant was the worst, I felt really really gross afterwards. DP was like this when I told him x 1,000,000

his comment wasn't really anything to do with bf was it, he was just being crude about your breasts

which isn't really ok

Lol at F&Z's loudhailer and OneBatMother's fabulous retort. I wish I could come up with something like that on the spot. I suffer from l'esprit d'escalier.

Am surprised the first chap could read the menu. Didn't he have trouble holding it with his knuckles bashing on the ground?

The other two - gah you'd think women would know better but they don't do they? Some older women in particular seem to think it's an indulgence to bf a child (sorry mass generalisation).

Tis a very weird world where properly nourishing your child is seen as some sort of perversion

Good for you I say. I'm starting to get a few stares now because I'm bfing a toddler and obviously pregnant. I'm thinking of getting a large sign with 'FERTILITY GODDESS, FEEL FREE TO WORSHIP ME*' written on it

wmmc, I like the sign idea, I may get a
t-shirt made up

'Keep your wankerish comments to yourself'

'No I am not interested in how ignorant you are re breastfeeding'

'Caution these breasts squirt milk do not gawp'

Might be a good start
