Infant feeding

The specialist clinic won't see me :(

My HV was trying to get me into a specialist clinic where you spend the day so they can watch you do several feeds. I really wanted to go as although I have now had six different people come out to watch me feed they can only ever see one feed at a time and I think it would be great to spend a day sorting out whatever problem it is I am having. They won't take me though as I am not in the right area. It's based in Glasgow and you have to be from there to go to it. I am gutted.

Aw, Stefka....is it possible you could stay with a relative who is in the right area? Just to allow them to make it all right in their books?

I am not sure - I think I need to be referred there by a health visitor or dr. It seems silly that something that is in a city half an hour from me won't let me come. I guess they don't want to share their resources with another area.

She did give some advice over the phone to my HV which was to get rid of the BF pillow and to take him off every time he slips even though he fixes it himself and it hurts to reattach him. She said he needs to learn not to do it. I hope it works because I hate taking him on and off like that.
