IIRC it was grainier and greener than breast milk poo.

Why??????

My ds3 is 9wks and has been ff since 5wks but I think he doesnt get on with this brand.
He is constantly sick, his poo is just like when BF but with said lumps in, and he just doesnt seem to like it basically. Only taking 3-4oz at a time.
I didnt know whether to swap brands.
He is gaining weight though so he's not starving.

I don't see what you have to lose by swapping brands.

What brand are you using at the moment?

it depends what milk you are using. The milks with prebiotics will tend to make the poo runnier as it is supposed to make them bf baby poo. There is no harm in trying a different brand but the poo sounds normal to me - some brands make it firmer, some dont

Sorry for not answering, we have been on our first night out since ds3 arrived!
He is on SMA at the mo, as was ds2 who's poo's were more solid and he wasn't sick with it either. Add this to the fact that its a struggle to get him to take 4oz and I'm thinking its not right for him.

I think Aptimil is generally well thought of, so it might be worth trying that, or i used cow and Gate with no problems.

I've heard of problems with SMA before - albeit normally constipation - but it is probably worth trying something else.

hope you had a good night last night!

tee4two, cow and gate comfort or sma staydown are supposed to be good for sicky babies.

JHelenA, baby poo can be all sorts of colours and have all sorts of bits in. When you say constipated do you mean the poos are hard and dry like little rabbit poos or do you mean your lo is going a while between poos?? If it is the first then your lo could be constipated and may need extra cool boiled water. If your lo is just going longer between poos but they are still softish then they are not constipated, they are just having a change in bowel habits. My ds was fed with aptamil and from around 5 weeks started going 2-3 days without pooing. They were still soft and a bit explosive when he did do them so I knew he wasnt constipated.

Hi! Poo still runny so may be i'm on the wrong track. ds seems really uncomfortable, not really crying but keeps yelping...can't think of better description. also had little milky bubbles round his mouth yest. started using infacol and that seems 2 help. still not happy man though.

thanks x
