Infant feeding

help and reassurance needed - 2 very empty boobs

I am exclusively BF and weirdly this morning my boobs are empty I have 2 very deflated balloons. My LO is still latching on but definetly does not seem to be satisfied. Could this just be a blip? I do not have enough EBM in the freezer to last more than a couple of feeds.

Any quick tips to increase milk supply or am I just being mad?

How long have you been BF - how old is the baby? The sensation of having two rocks stuck to your front doesn't last past the first 3 months and then your boobs become much more supple and not nearly so Pamela Andersen like. Could this be what has happened? I seem to remember it can be quite a sudden change. If this is the case, rest assured, your milk is still fine and you can continue feeding as normal.

Fortunately I was warned about this beforehand with ds1 or I would probably have panicked.

Good luck, take a deep breath and relaxxxxxxx!

julie, fatslag is right....the change from feeling 'full' can occcasionally be very sudden. It doesn't always happen at 3 mths, either, but it can happen at any time.

Without more details of the age of your baby and info about what's been happening, it's hard to be certain about what's happening in your case, but whatever.....continue feeding and things should be fine
