If I take diflucan for thrush in my breasts, can I still breastfeed?

.... or if I'm expressing, can I use the milk? Or should I throw it away for a day? My GP said I didn't have thrush, but if I did, there was nothing she could do for it (wouldn't prescribe me anything), the pharmacist said I could take the diflucan but to throw away any milk I made within 12 hours of taking it, and all the websites say I can take it and continue feeding. Am desperate to get this sorted out and SO don't want to throw away breast milk! Any advice please? Thank you...

I know tiktok, that was the 2nd time i went to see my GP who is normally lovely (well, she still is lovely, but not so very useful this time around...!)... she kept looking in ds's mouth and declaring it to be clear of thrush (doesn't help the shooting pains etc I've had for about a week now...).
Thank you both!

put diflucan breastfeeding into Google, and you'll find the pdf from the breastfeeding network on this - for sharing with gp and pharmacist?

Agree with others its fine, don't stop. Google it and you'll see loads of info on it. Thats what I did when I had exactly the same prob as you. And dd didn't flinch, or get upset at all
