My LO is now 5 months - she has around 6 full bf's a day. I know all babies are different but what is average?

Sounds about right, my dd fed about 6 or 7 times a day at that age, it's worth bearing in mind that when she had a growth spurt, she would feed more often and take longer. I'm not sure there is an average though, all babies have different appetites, or at least my two did.

Agree with RH.

Like LL my DD is also 5 months. I have started to wean her. She has a few spoonfuls of pureed stuff for brekkie, lunch and tea and bfs at approx 5am, 10am, 4pm, 7pm, 1am. So still has 5 b'feeds and sometimes snacks in between if she is fretful (teeth). She is on the 91st growth centile which has been constant since birth. My DS was on the 50th centile from birth but was pretty similar iirc.

Hi Lyndyloo,
Sounds about the same as my ds, but he started dropping feeds quite quickly from 6 months and he now only has about 3 full feeds a day at 8 months.

i must have a bottomless pit, he is 7 months and bf at 6am 9am, then every 2-3 hour until 7pm, then 10.30pm.

My dd is 4 1/2 mths, and feeds about 6 times a day too. Has the odd snack inbetween i guess, but 6 main feeds (some days however I lose count as she's on/off/on again..)
