You mentioned on the clomid/bf thread I wrote a few weeks ago that you had a link to some info about why gestational diabetes don't need formula till the milk comes in. Could you post it please?

Thanks so much.

I haven't got a link and am not hunker...but aslong as you feed right after Birth and thereafter on demand or whenever your lil one is awake, whichever comes first, lol...then colostrum will do...!

thanks for that. I'll read all of that.

With my first son I did feed straight after birth ok then the hospital made me cup feed formula and he still had to go to the scbu (after a day and a night of 3 hourly sugar tests which were all low) and be tube fed formula (I was hand expressing colustum too). My milk came in after 3 days so cup fed bm, until he got the hang of latching on.

No advice alex, but if I post on this thread it will appear in my "threads I'm on" list, which will remind me to bump it next time I see hunker!

IIRC she had to really fight the midwives to stop them giving her ds2 formula as they didn't believe it could be done - so having lots of information may be a good thing in case you encounter opposition.

thanks so much for that I'll read it and print it out when I have had a whole nights sleep and can think properly. Am having that annoying pregnancy insomnia thing at the moment. Am not due till Feb but like to get my worrying in early. Am going to hospital diabetic clinic every 2 weeks so will bring the subject up soon.
