Infant feeding

12 weeks and refusing to feed

at wits end. For two days ds has refused the breast, not even trying to latch on, and screaming and arching back.

I've tried when he's calm but as soon as I put him to Breast he goes postal, red face and real tears. Thrn hell a bottle but only 60ml or so.

He's fed at night fine, just the past two day times.

He's sleeping now, conked out after screaming and taking 60mls... I don't know what to do

Firstly, don't stress, unless he starts to appear limp and becomes less responsive.

Secondly, will he take expressed milk from a cup? Even an eye dropper, just something to get liquid into his mouth?

Thirdly, my DS did this and it was terrifying. It lasted about three days, if I remember correctly, and I finally got him to latch on when he was all but asleep.

The only thing I can put it down to is that sucking was painful. I honestly cannot remember if it was him teething early (3m) or the ear infection he had. Anyway, get him to the dr if it continues but, please please calm yourself and relax as he will pick up on your worried state.
